2020 has been a heck of a year, and while things are bound to look a little different for our holiday celebrations, what remains certain is that cheese makes everything better! If you’re wanting to set out an easy Christmas appetizer, look no further than my Christmas Wreath Cheese Board.

Remember my sweet Christmas tree cheese board? It has been going bonkers this holiday season. This Christmas wreath cheese board would be a great savory alternative. Absolutely no cooking is required for this decorative centerpiece, and it’ll look right at home accompanied with a glass of wine.

For many out there, this is the most wonderful time of the year. And for some, it is the most stressful time of the year. No matter if you are dancing with bells on, or a grumpy Grinch, this Christmas cheese board is for you. The entire process takes just 15 minutes to put together.

This easy holiday appetizer can easily be scaled no matter the size of your gathering. As a bonus, it’ll keep the vultures (hungry kiddos and hubby) from picking at the main event before you’re ready.

Ingredients to make a Christmas wreath

First up, cube your favorite varieties of Cabot cheese. I used sharp cheddar, pepper jack, garlic cheddar, and habanero cheddar. Check out their huge selection of flavored, specialty and cheddar cheeses.

Aside from the obvious – cheese, you’ll need some other delicious ingredients to make a real show stopping holiday appetizer. Olives (preferably pitted), cherry tomatoes, and fresh herbs will transform your cheese into a masterpiece.

How to Make a Christmas Wreath Cheese Board

  1. Place a bowl upside-down in the center of a round serving platter, wooden tray, or serving board as a guide.
  2. Arrange cheese cubes around the bowl. Carefully remove bowl and find your cheese in the shape of Christmas wreath. Amazing, right?

  1. Garnish cheese with olives and cherry tomatoes, using them like ornaments.
  2. Add fresh herbs between the cheese cubes to make it look even more like a wreath. Use your imagination!
  3. Finally, tuck additional bay and sage leaves under the cheese in the shape of a wreath. Serve your beautiful (and delicious!)

As with any kind of cheese board, this one goes great with an assortment of crackers and bread, but you can easily keep things low carb by opting for toothpicks instead.

This cheese board is super simple and festive with all the ingredients assembled to look like a Christmas wreath. What is not to love?

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces cheddar cheese, cut into 3/4-inch cubes
  • 4 ounces garlic cheese, cut into 3/4-inch cubes
  • 4 ounces pepper jack cheese, cut into 3/4-inch cubes
  • 4 ounces habanero cheese, cut into 3/4-inch cubes
  • 3 ounces pitted Greek olives
  • 6 cherry tomatoes 
  • fresh herbs such as bay leaves, thyme, rosemary, and sage

Instructions

  • Place a bowl upside-down in the center of a round serving platterwooden tray, or serving board as a template guide.
  • Arrange cheese cubes around the bowl.
  • Carefully remove bowl to resemble a cheese in the shape of Christmas wreath.
  • Garnish cheese with olives and cherry tomatoes.
  • Add fresh herbs between.
  • Tuck additional leaves (bay leaves and sage) under the cheese in the shape of a wreath.

Notes

  • Substitute with any cheeses you prefer.
  • Feel free to use a variety of olives or other pickled ingredients.
  • Serve with crackers or crostinis.
