Downtown Breckenridge CO

A few weeks ago I was invited to a bloggers retreat. Vianney and I had just finished our book tour in California, and initially I wanted to take a break from traveling. Then I realized the retreat was in my very own backyard — Breckenridge, Colorado. I love Breckenridge and was beyond excited to witness the fall colors.

I have attended many blogging conferences and have always wished I was invited to a private small retreat and that wish finally came true. Blogging conferences are great and you can learn a lot and make great connections, but they can often be large and overwhelming. A bloggers retreat is intimate and you can learn so much by just sitting around (in your pjโ€™s) listening to other bloggers. Blogging is still a very new business and there are so many facets to blogging, and being surrounded by successful bloggers was invaluable.

Meet all the talented bloggers! Be sure to check out their blogs to read more about our Breckenridge retreat and to find some delicious recipes.

After our signings and events in California, Vianney and I flew to Colorado and Toyota graciously provided a RAV4 for our drive up to the mountains. The drive was spectacular with all the leaves changing.

Go Breck hosted our stay in this gorgeous Slopeside Manor and as foodies you can bet we ate like queens. We even saw a fox who was begging to come in for all the fun and yummy food.

On the first night Vianney and I made Paloma’s and Strawberry and Mango Margaritas served in mini Don Julio bottles. And some of the gals assisted making some Muy Bueno dishes: Carne Asada Tacos, Pico de Gallo, Guacamole, and Black Bean Salad.

While on this trip I learned some great photography tips, SEO (search engine optimization) tips, and social media best practices. I also learned about working with brands and advertising networks.

This retreat was just what the doctor ordered โ€“ It was full of inspiration, natural beauty, delicious food, and wonderful company. Iโ€™m thrilled to do what I do and have the opportunity to meet so many amazing bloggers along my journey.

I want to thank Erin from Dinners, Dishes, and Desserts who invited me on this trip and my new amigas, the talented bloggers who I learned so much from.
