Chilean Strawberry Pisco Punch

Yikes, I think I blinked and then May arrived. Will you be celebrating Cinco de Mayo this weekend? I will be hosting an intimate cocktail and dessert evening. Nothing fancy, but of course it will include yummy drinks and sweets.

I know that margaritas, cerveza, and tequila are usually the drinks of choice to celebrate the holiday, but this year I’m changing it up and making this punch with a Chilean twist. Instead of making traditional Spanish sangria or Mexican fruit sangria, this weekend I’m making this red wine punch with pisco and strawberries. Pisco is a potent (but smooth) South American grape brandy produced in winemaking regions of Peru and Chile and pairs really well with wine.

Before I bring out white wine cocktail recipes this summer I figured let’s celebrate May: National Strawberry Month and enjoy a bottle of red wine and make this Chilean strawberry pisco punch. It’s quick, easy, versatile, and packed with delicious sweet strawberries. Make a double or triple batch – it goes quick!
